Love and Death and Loneliness

Death is not a fun topic to talk about, but it is one that needs to be addressed. Needs to be thought about.

Cakey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yesterday I made chocolate chip cookies. And not just any chocolate chip cookies, oh no, these were cakey and buttery and soft and warm and everything that has to do with scrumptious.

One Thing

Back in my first blog, I said that this was going to be my "cooking diary" or something along those lines. Or at least it would be until I got back in the groove of writing. If you look back at the last two and a half months in my archive you will find one (1) entry.

Oops.

I did cook/bake up a storm though. Just never got around to writing much. I'm slowly sinking back into the feel of writing with purpose. It seems I'm into snippets of ideas at the moment, so what follows is one of those.

Peach and Blueberry Pie

The Occasion: One of my dear friends and coworkers left our small Wisconsin town in order to pursue his education in California. This was his “going away” gift.

So this pie I made…the experience was one-quarter pain in the ass, three-quarters enjoyable.

The Daughter's Story

I’m a writer. Published? No. Will I ever be published? It’s possible. Regardless of whether or not I ever experience that happy fortune, writing is an integral part of who I am, and I am compelled to put thoughts to paper. Short stories, novels, letters to friends, poetry, journal entries, it honestly makes no difference to me the medium I use to express myself. As long as I’ve written something at the end of the day, I’m content.

At the moment, however, I am not content.
